Maurice Ravel is most famous for his “Bolero” for orchestra. We won’t be able to offer the original version for symphony orchestra, but there is a beautiful piano version (arr. Roger Branga) that will be part of the programme.
Other pieces on the short list are: Alborada del gracioso (Morning song of the jester) from Mirroirs (Mirrors), Jeux d’eaux (Water play) and Ondine all for piano solo.
Pavane pour une infante défunte
Ravel’s music has many facettes and ranges from dreamy, almost meditative to energetic brilliance. Whether you listen to his works for piano solo, his songs or his chamber music, sure to excite you!
