Singing Solo

SOLO SINGING

“I really enjoyed listening to your recital at St. Pancras. It’s the first time I have heard you sing, and I love the quality of your voice. The concert was an hour of pure delight, and I would be happy to hear you sing all day!” Clive Pollard, professional accompanist (Concert live-stream 10 September 2020)

If your passion is vocal music there are a variety of events to choose from. Gisela loves singing in the classical sense (accompanied by a pianist) but also enjoys mixing the vocal element in ensembles with instrumentalists. Gisela also performs lighter repertoire as Singing Pianist – scroll down the page to read more.

Whether you want music for your event, organise concerts, or simply love listening to vocal recitals, Gisela would love to hear from you. Access all of Gisela’s videos here. Have a look at a list of Gisela’s vocal repertoire.

Gisela originally came to singing through her work as accompanist and has, since 2014, taken her vocal pursuits to a professional level by taking up lessons with the renowned Jessica Cash, teacher of Emma Kirkby and retired professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Gisela has appeared in services, at functions and festivals throughout London and has given several vocal recitals with pianists Izabella Bako and John Human. She sings in a trio with Una Birtchnell (cello) and John Human (piano) – so far, they have performed two full programmes of vocal chamber music. In March 2019 she joined the team of classical vocal teachers at the City Lit Institute.

Plans for 2021 include a concert with music for soprano, clarinet and piano with John Human and Alistair Logan (clarinet and basset horn).

SINGING PIANIST

Gisela has started exploring performances as a Singing Pianist. During sessions of the Clerkenwell Singalong, Gisela found such pleasure in playing and singing music from the shows, light jazz and folk, that she tried it on her own in a public Zoom concert in June. This in turn led to another concert in October, and more will doubtlessly follow!
